Friend With Having a Plan B? Why and How It Saved My Life Twice.
When I hear certain gurus talk about a Plan B, I have to laugh out loud.
For many highly acclaimed self-development experts, a plan B is not an option.
They claim that if you have a Plan B, you don't trust Plan A.
And that Plan A is therefore doomed to failure from the outset.
What nonsense!
Hi everyone!
These self-proclaimed gurus never talk about the most important influence in our lives.
The unforeseen.
No one can estimate all the unknowns that play a role in life.
Or even can prevent them.
Our existence is sometimes subject to drastic changes.
That is what makes up our existence.
It is called life.
Crisis and no end in sight.
Do you remember the year 2008?
A long time ago, I know.
Back then, there was a global orchestrated banking crisis.
Practically overnight, the international banks were competing with horrendous sums of money.
Namely, the sums with which they declared bankruptcy.
How legitimate these bankruptcies were, and why the banks were helped is a topic for another article.
Starting the collapse
Here and now we'll talk about how a Plan B helped me to meet my ends.
And how such a plan might be a good idea in your life as well.
The collapse of the banks was followed by a decline in the economy.
Especially, the construction industry.
And how!
Where there was no money, there were no mortgages, so there was no more construction.
Pretty bad if you own a small trading company for building materials!
That's exactly what my wife and I had back then.
Practically overnight, 85% of our customers "died".
They filed for bankruptcy.
This was often linked to the fact that we no longer received payments for outstanding invoices.
Our income shrank to a sum that was far below the minimum wage for an employee.
Our plan B lay in our garden.
We were able to increase the production of our garden in a very short time.
What was before nothing more than a small hobby became vital.
And it helped us to reduce our living costs to a minimum.
We were able to save the company.
Smaller, but it still exists today.
Without a plan B and the ability to reduce costs, we would have lost everything.
Many of the gurus saw the crisis coming in hindsight...
Interpreting the past is easy.
Having plans for the future is more difficult to make.
A widowmaker and its consequences.
Most people take health for granted.
I did as well.
Until it wasn't.
A heart attack in the middle of the night almost made my wife a widow.
As if by magic, she did everything correctly.
And saved my life in the process.
Where's the plan B here?
Well, very few people survive a heart attack of this magnitude.
Anyone who believes that life will continue in the same way afterwards is very naive.
And very close to a second heart attack!
I understood nature's wake-up call.
And I was aware that I had to radically change my life and habits.
If I didn't, my life expectancy would shrink like ice cream in the sun.
So continuing to work and live as before was out of the question.
It was clear to me that I had to get back to nature.
The health industry and I
My time in the hospital was followed by convalescence.
This time gave me interesting insights into our medical care.
There's no question that the doctors saved my life with their quick action and a lot of technology.
And I am grateful for that.
But nothing came after that.
And this is where my plan B came into play.
There are many reasons for my mistrust of modern medicine.
My cardiologists tried to stuff me full of medication.
No one ever asked about the actual causes of the heart attack.
So I started my research.
And I couldn't stop being amazed.
So instead of trusting my doctors, I changed my lifestyle.
This involved different issues:
- Stress
- Sleep rhythm
- Food choices
- Weight loss
My new attitude to life took immediate effect.
A few months after the incident, I was healthy again.
Not without scars, but alive.
I refused to take 14 different medications.
And replaced them with natural measures.
Nature knows better.
I am living proof.
Conclusion
Having a plan B means one thing above all.
To reckon with the possibility that not everything will always go according to plan.
This has nothing to do with a self-fulfilling prophecy.
It's logical thinking.
Being ready for change takes courage. It means questioning the familiar.
It also takes a bit of planning.
But a plan B can save lives.
Nobody wants a heart attack or a drunk driver that leaves you bedridden for months.
Being flexible and prepared to break new ground can make things a lot easier.
I don't have a plan B for all areas of my life, either.
But I try to be better prepared for the unexpected in my life.
Isn't this much easier than being at the mercy of fate?
