Howdy, Fearless friend,
It gets longer than usual. Stick with me anyway.
You want answers, right?
Let's find them!
Youâre hustling. Youâre showing up. Youâre checking things off the list.
But deep down, something feels⌠off.
Youâre busy, but not always moving forward.
Youâre tired. All the time but for no obvious reasons.
Youâre making decisions daily, but they donât feel confident.
Hereâs a thought: what if the problem isnât your goalsâŚ
What if itâs how youâre choosing them?
The Forgotten Framework That Changed Everything
In 2013, a man named Allan Savory stood on a TED stage and shocked the world.
He said we could reverse desertification (fertile land turning into deserts).
How?
By using a surprising method: more grazing animals. (we're talking THOUSANDS more)
Sounds crazy, right?
But it works. Not only did he deliver proof. He actually promised that it gets easier with time.
And whatâs even more powerful than the environmental fix is how he got there.
Savory (an academic) used something called Holistic Management.
An astonishingly simple way of thinking. One that helps you make better decisions by looking at the whole picture, not just the problem in front of you.
But you have to experience it firsthand. And so I did.
How It Helped Me After Everything Fell Apart
I didnât find this framework because I was curious. I found it because I had to. Call it the Universe, Nature or whatever - it was exactly what I desperately needed.
Without even having a clue about its existence...
After my heart attack, my life cracked open. And I was standing at the biggest crossroads ever in my life. The choices I had were simple but with an unknown impact. Living as before and swallowing literally handfuls of bitter pills.
Or, a complete life change and not knowing the outcome.
Only one thing was crystal clear.
The way Iâd been livingâgrinding, pushing, reactingâwasnât just unsustainable. It was dangerously stupid...
I needed a new way to think.
Not just about work, but about everything. My health, my time, my relationships. Even how I show up in the world and what role to play in business and in family.
Thatâs when I came across the book "Holistic Management".
And it gave me something Iâd never had before: a much bigger lens. The lens Nature works with. I suddenly realized that I was like that little microbe under the microscope. A small thing in the greatness of Nature's work.
The framework helped me ask much better questions like:
What kind of life do I want to build, really?
What matters more than being efficient?
How do my choices today shape the future I actually want. Not just for me. But also for the next generation?
It wasnât a quick fix. It was slow. A lot of studying and a powerful re-alignment. And it changed everything.

Not Just for Farmers or People in Crisis
Iâve used this same thinking to make better choices in everyday life. Hereâs one friend's example:
đ The Relationship That Wasnât Working
A friend of mine (letâs call her Claudia) was stuck in a relationship that looked âfineâ from the outside. Happily married for years, family, good job - everything like in the movies. But it felt wrong on the inside.
For months! Or even years already?
She described it like "swimming in a river and knowing there's a waterfall ahead..."
She kept asking herself: âShould I stay or go?â
But that question was too small.
Using the holistic approach and framework, she asked bigger questions:
What kind of relationships do I want in my life long-term?
What do I value mostâhonesty, emotional growth, shared goals?
Does this relationship support the future I want to build. Including our childrens future?
With time, the answers became clearer. She didnât need a breakup checklistâshe needed a bigger lens. Like the difference between your mobile screen and the movie screen in a theater.
Why This Matters Right Now
We live in a world that pushes us to go faster, work harder, and figure it out later. Often, without a clue about possible outcomes. Or unintended consequences...
The results:
More effort doesnât fix bad thinking.
You donât need better or more habits. We all need better frameworks. A bigger lens!
You donât need to hustle moreâyou need to align better.
Holistic decision-making helps us to slow down. And to make aligned choices. Ones that not only feel better right now. But also stand the pressure of time!
Whatâs Next
Over the next few weeks, Iâll show you how to use this framework in your own life. But you can be assured. You don't need to buy a plot of desert. Not even a farm!
Weâll talk about:
How to define what really matters to you. Without overseeing the consequences.
How to avoid choices that drain your energy or close future doors of opportunities.
How to make decisions you can actually trust.
Closing Thought: If youâre tired of guessing⌠If youâre ready to stop reacting and start choosingâŚ
This might be the shift youâve been waiting for. It changed the way I see the world. There's no logical reason why it couldn't change your life too...
As Mr. Savory would say: "We simply have to interpret the brittleness scale differently."
Talk to you soon,
to your freedom and health,
Daniel
