The Dirty Problem With Being The Good Guy Victim
Waiting for change is - well - stupid
You don't care what the world will look like the day after tomorrow. Or whether we humans will eventually become extinct.
And nobody needs whales or dolphins anyway.
Don't read any further! This article is not for you.
Defending The Status Quo
Right now, as I'm spending a few days in my home country again, I realize it. Everything should stay as it is. Nobody wants change. Not at work. Not in society. And certainly not in their personal lives.
Human beings I meet may grumble about the state of the world. About immigration. About manipulated weather. About the state of the school system. But actively doing something about it? That's a completely different matter.
Recently, at a dinner. Intense discussions about politics. I tried to stay out of it. Unsuccessfully. The host got into it. The excellent bottle of red wine probably helped. With each additional sentence, he became angrier. At everything. And everyone. Except for the guests present.
At some point, he asked me why I had left Switzerland. All eyes were fixed on me. And expected a detailed monologue. I had expected the question. After all, it comes as surely as the next full moon.
Why it Makes No Sense
My answer was as clear as glacier water. “Because I was tired of complaining. And because I saw no way to actively change anything here”.
The table looked at me as if I had just landed coming from Mars in a rocket.
My table neighbors became very quiet for a moment. Some because they were processing my words. The others because the red wine was now taking full effect. Not so the host. My answer seemed to have struck him right in the heart.
He looked at me with belligerent eyes: “What if everyone did that?”
“Then Switzerland would probably be very empty soon,” I said. “But that's not necessary. What if everyone who doesn't like it here just left? A lot would change automatically.”
After this brief statement of mine, the discussion went back to where it came from. Political whining.
What to Do Instead
Of course, not everyone can quit everything. Leave and start over. And leave everything behind. Just like I did.
But without your cooperation, society will not change. And the problems that affect your life? They won't disappear.
No matter where you go, your backpack of experiences and difficulties will be there.
If you don't like the world you live in, there are three options:
accept it,
change it
or becoming a whiner who complains but does nothing about it.
Everything else is a waste of time. And an imposition on those around you.
Final thought
We all know them. The armchair heroes who know everything better. Who would change the world overnight. If only they were finally sworn in as president.
But few realize that you should be politically active first.
But maybe you are more like me. I stopped believing in a society guided by politics for all a long time ago. A saying I once read almost became a life mantra:
“Anyone who tries to solve problems caused by elections and votes - with elections and votes - is crazy”.
There is nothing wrong with being the good guy. If you are at peace with yourself and your environment. And the state of the world doesn't bother you. Good. I accept that.
But just playing the good guy, complaining but not doing anything, that's not okay.
All of our society's problems could be solved relatively easily. With the perspective of nature and its principles. The great thing about it? You can start with very small steps in your life. And make a big impact. Not sure where to start?
A good place is my newsletter and my growing community. All of them human beings who are fed up with “being the good guy”. And want to improve their lives.
By making Nature their strongest ally.

I live in America. I'm laughing because people probably think why the heck would you live in America? Well because we're one of the free nations in the world and we do have constitutional rights that we can stand on.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of hatred and division which is caused by the government, but the people have the choice weather they wanna participateor not, and I bring it up with anybody I come in contact with.
I definitely have complained, but have made proactive choices and done things to change. Not only what state I live in, but where I live within that state, not near a city and I Homestead and can grow food etc. honestly, I could survive completely without money.
Yes, I know we have to pay taxes and things like that- but think about it, IF the monetary system collapsed and no one had money- nobody could be collecting anything!
All governments are too large and unfortunately, we are going to a one world government sooner than people think. They don't want countries with borders. They don't wanna protect us. We are their resources.
See we don't need them. They need us.
Where I live, we can actually function without any amount of support or money from DC . We can stand on our own. We have all the resources within our state and at one point, our governor was gonna arm every US state citizen, for those who don't have what they need already, with our national guards surplus of certain items to use against the government if they came against us.
again, we don't need government they need us. We are their resources and all throughout the world governments have shut farms down, complaining about cow farts and other ignorant stuff blaming it on climate change not knowing that climate change has always existed and we have less cows here than we ever had in the history of the world. This as tgry fly across the world and get in their limousines and go to the coronation of Charles in England putting out more CO2 than a whole country. They complain about us a little folks that grow food and rarely use our cars to go anywhere and it's just a bunch of lies.
I don't particularly like the complainers who do nothing. I always say if you're not gonna do anything, I really don't wanna hear anything about it. You wanna start a co-op for growing food? There's so many things that we can do to support ourselves and then if we have to come together and defend ourselves.
The time will come, and we will see who will rise to the challenge and who won't. I'm ready. I've been ready for a long time and I'm not afraid.
Bring it on !
Daniel, thanks for sharing 🙏
We can change the world and make it a better place, but we have to start with ourselves and then we can do it one person at a time. I believe there is some time left, but not very much.
Good guys don't care who finishes first. It's not a race, the journey is the process. CHEERS!
