🐝🌿What a 300-Person Romanian Wedding Taught Me About Growth 🎉
#182 His tears were the bonus that day
Hi,
Last Saturday, our family celebrated one of the biggest events of our lives — my son’s wedding.
It was everything you’d imagine from a traditional Romanian celebration:
A stunning, professionally hosted venue — a huge flower-filled tent that looked like something from a movie.
Tables groaning under the weight of incredible food.
Music and dancing that lasted well past midnight.
It was joyful, beautiful… and honestly, a little overwhelming.
You see, I’m not the kind of person who enjoys being in the spotlight just for the sake of it. But this time, I felt a pull.
In the weeks before the wedding, I quietly prepared something. Not even my wife knew.
A speech.
It was my chance to honor my stepson’s journey. The journey from a shy 10-year-old boy to a confident, talented chef working at one of Romania’s top hotels.
When the moment came, I felt nervous. My hands were sweating. My heart was racing. But I stood up, I spoke… and I meant every word.
The applause was warm. The tears in his eyes said even more. And I realized something important: stepping outside your comfort zone is always worth it.
Here’s what I took away — and what I’d like you to consider this week:
Waiting until you “feel ready” is a trap. Growth happens when you take the leap before you feel ready.
Your leap doesn’t have to be a wedding speech. It could be saying yes to a presentation at work, sharing your writing publicly.
Or just having a conversation you’ve been avoiding for way too long.
Find that one thing you’ve been holding back on… and do it. You might surprise yourself with how capable you really are.
Talk soon,
