Good Saturday, dear readers.
Although salt is important for your body, you should reduce it... blah, blah, blah.
Wait.
Stop.
I won’t lecture you on such an obvious topic as salt.
Right?
Or could it be a different story?
You already know that people consider salt a killer in their diet.
You’re afraid of salt.
Because we all heard for 30 years that salt is causing you high blood pressure, a heart attack, or at least clogged arteries…
Right?
Well, not so fast.
There might be more at stake
Whenever I did the opposite of what the official narratives or my doctors recommended, I felt an instant improvement in my health. And most non-FDA or WHO-tied professionals reconsider the recommendations about salt.
Because no rule fits us all.
We are different.
Indeed, studies ARE showing that salt raises blood pressure and causes issues. With our most active muscle, the heart.
But…
Nerve impulses need salt for transmission. It helps contract and relax muscle fibers (including those in the heart and blood vessels).
And salt is crucial to maintaining a proper fluid balance. It doesn't take much to do this.
Some tribe members living in the Amazon rainforest get just 200 mg of sodium a day (about the amount found in one-tenth teaspoon of salt).
It’s a different story in Japan.
The daily intake there is a staggering 26,000 mg (about 11 teaspoons of salt).
But Japan is not really famous for people killed by heart attacks.
Right?
So, could it be possible that we have flaws or biases in our studies? Too short timespans? Too few participants? Other, more important diet decisions having an impact? Or do they even serve certain industry interests?
I don’t have the answers.
But when ALL doctors are shouting the same narrative - I’m getting suspicious…
How do you deal with unanswered questions?
Well, I’ll tell you how I do it.
Whenever I feel under-educated on a topic that impresses me, I try to get some answers from the pros.
Salt comes from mines or seawater.
So?
You guessed it.
I visited a salt mine yesterday!
And it was impressive. Also, a bit scary, to be honest… 🙂
I’m writing you this newsletter from the northeastern part of Romania.
They call the region Bucovina. It’s a beautiful, hilly region covered in lush forests and green pastures.
My wife and I are visiting our son for a few days.
He’s the chef in one of the best-reviewed hotels and steakhouses in Romania.
Did you expect me to give you a detailed description of our trip?
No!
Of course not. The boring stuff I publish on other sites…! :-)
You’re my VIP.
You deserve better!
Visiting the Cacica salt mine near the Ukrainian border gave me some insights into salt production.
But even more important. It made me think…
While salt is essential in our diet, it is almost forgotten as something else.
Salt is known for its healing and cleaning powers.
Isn’t it interesting that we often use only one feature of a product? Completely forgetting other uses?
Or that we mostly rely on our proven structures, business practices, and procedures?
We don’t think about the need to clean them. Or give them time to heal.
Detoxifying our minds and our business environment isn’t a “nice-to-have” or luxury. It’s a necessary task you should put as an appointment in your agenda.
Like a wardrobe needs a cleanout, so does our mindset.
A moment to reconsider worn-out paths.
A day of questioning year-long business practices. A search for purifying solutions.
Why not set a day every quarter as the “mindset detox day"?
That’s four days a year. Booked in your calendar for asking the “salty” questions.
About yourself.
About business.
About your future.
I've been doing this for three years already.
And the results are amazing.
The deep occupation with myself is eye-opening. The writing down of new ideas. The intense questioning of my own existence is profound.
It is the purifying and healing process that was missing in my adult life.
Not anymore.
It became as important as the salt on my perfectly medium rare tomahawk steak, the waitress just brought me now.
To your health,
and with greetings from Bucovina, Romania,
Daniel
PS: Purification and detox inevitably lead to clarity. It’s the starting point for setting goals and reaching new horizons.

I used to believe the lies about salt. After witnessing my 93 year old father turn his food white with table salt, I've given up considering it any threat whatsoever.
There's plenty of evidence that salt doesn't actually cause high blood pressure in most individuals.
High blood pressure starts when the body has to crank up the pressure in order to force blood into the tiny arteries and veins after they get clogged up and restricted. In most cases, it's a forced adaptation that the body uses to keep going. And it turns out that fasting can cure high blood pressure in 99% of cases, no medication required.
